Rectangle
Snap windows with keyboard shortcuts
Subscription-free alternative to Magnet, Moom.
Rectangle gives macOS the window management it otherwise lacks. With a keyboard shortcut or by dragging to a screen edge, windows snap into halves, thirds, quarters or full screen — across multiple displays, with customisable shortcuts and an unobtrusive menu-bar icon.
On large or multiple monitors it saves real time: editor left, browser right, terminal below — one move, no fiddling. Anyone arriving from Windows will feel at home with the familiar snap gestures right away.
The app is open source and entirely free; an optional Pro version adds things like custom grids, while the core stays free and ad-free. No account, no tracking, no subscription.
Why no subscription? Arranging windows is basic operating-system equipment, not a premium service. You don’t pay monthly for that.
