NowPlayingWidget
Mac music widget, notch player and OBS overlay
NowPlayingWidget shows what’s playing on your Mac: a floating card in three sizes, a black notch-style player at the top centre, or a translucent dock on either screen edge. It reads playback from the macOS Now Playing layer, so there is no per-service setup or account to connect. Available controls depend on the source, and it does not identify arbitrary system audio.
A streaming mode provides an overlay for OBS via native window capture, with adjustable size, background, transparency and fonts. Lyrics are looked up through LRCLIB with NetEase as a fallback and depend on availability. Play History and cached artwork stay on your Mac. Requires macOS 13+ on Apple Silicon; distributed outside the App Store, signed and notarized.
Why no subscription? A one-time $5.99 license covers up to 5 Macs, after a 14-day trial with no card. No recurring billing.
