Satellite Finder: SatAlign
Align your dish with guided compass steps
SatAlign guides you through pointing a satellite dish: pick a satellite by name, alias or orbital position such as 19.2°E, then follow plain-language cues like “Turn left” along with the calculated elevation angle and the required LNB rotation, each with an illustration. A camera view helps check whether trees or buildings block the line of sight.
The app assesses location, compass accuracy and device orientation and says so when readings are unreliable — metal, vehicles or magnetic accessories can disturb a compass. A phone cannot detect the satellite’s RF signal, so the final tuning happens on your receiver. No account required; the developer states the satellite catalog and preferences stay on the device. iPhone, iOS 15 or later.
Why no subscription? The download is free; the full version, Lifetime Pro, costs a one-time $3.99 and is explicitly described as a one-time purchase with no subscription. The free tier shows ads, including rewarded ads for individual alignment passes.
