dB Halo: Sound Meter
Measure sound levels, spectrum and sleep journal
dB Halo shows the current sound level in a large ring with minimum, average, maximum and peak values plus a time-stamped event log. You can pick A, C or Z weighting, connect an external microphone and store several calibration profiles. One live session can be viewed in three synchronized views: FFT spectrum, RTA octave bands and spectrogram. Noise Dose estimates daily exposure against NIOSH or OSHA criteria.
The Sleep Journal classifies snoring, breathing, speech, coughing, alarms, animal sounds, impacts and crying and logs events without saving raw microphone audio; an AAC file is only created when you explicitly record. Measurements can be exported as PDF reports or CSV. Processing stays on the device and no account is required. The app is not a certified professional sound level meter; readings are estimates.
Why no subscription? General features include three free uses each; Spectrum, Noise Dose and Sleep Journal one each. Lifetime Pro is a single non-consumable purchase at $4.99 — nothing renews.
