Screen Pets
Little pets wander across your Mac desktop
Screen Pets puts small animated creatures beside your windows on the Mac. Eight companions are included free: Red Panda, Cat, Corgi, Dinosaur, Ghost, Axolotl, Capybara and Chick. Run several at once, pause one or all, hide them or send them home; Reduce Motion keeps them still. Your chosen pets and their positions are saved on this Mac, and no account is required.
The app itself is free, with two optional paid collections: Tiny Dragons, twelve animated dragons each with its own trick, at $3.99, and the More Pets Collection (formerly Expansion Pack Alpha) adding 50 classic pets at $2.99. Purchases and Restore go through the App Store, with Family Sharing supported. Requires macOS 13 or later. The App Store listing states the developer collects no data.
Why no subscription? Each collection is a separate one-time purchase — there is no subscription, so you pay once and keep it.
