SADFinder

SADFinder replaces the macOS Finder and adds back what the original leaves out: tabs and a path bar, renaming many files in one pass, a quick filter you type instead of clicking through, window snapping and freely assignable keyboard shortcuts. It all lives in a single, tidy window with a sidebar, a tab bar and a status bar.

The look is yours to change: 17 built-in themes, a real dark mode, three tab styles and a large-text option. The app is built natively for the Mac and stays a file manager — it makes no attempt to be more.

SADFinder is free to download and try. The full version is a one-time $49 lifetime licence with updates included; a monthly ($5) and a yearly ($29) plan are offered alongside it.

Why no subscription? Because the $49 lifetime lets you use SADFinder fully and forever without ever paying a subscription — the monthly and yearly plans are just an extra way to pay, not a requirement. A file manager you buy once and keep is exactly what this directory is for. That the same app is also offered on a subscription does not change that.
